Rome Braves Reports:
The 2016 Rome Braves field staff has been announced and Randy Ingle returns as the team’s manager. Ingle, in his 25th season as a manager, was Rome skipper last season as well as five seasons from
2006 – 2010 and again in 2012 and 2013.
Prior to coming to Rome in 2006, Ingle managed the Myrtle Beach Pelicans for four seasons, managed in Macon for one year (2001) and in Richmond for two years (1999-2000). Ingle has twice been named the organization’s Manager of the Year (1996, ’97) as well as the recipient of the Bobby Cox Manager of the Year Award in 2011. Ingle was inducted into the South Atlantic League Hall of Fame in 2013.
Also returning to the Rome staff is hitting coach Bobby Moore, who will serve his fourth season with the team and his 19th with the Braves’ farm system. Dan Meyer will return to a coaching role as he serves as the Rome pitching coach after spending the 2015 season as the organization’s minor league rehabilitation pitching coordinator. In 2014, he was the pitching coach for the Gulf Coast League (Rookie) Braves. Meyer was also a member of the 2003 South Atlantic League Rome Braves championship team as well as pitching for the Marlins, A’s, and Atlanta Braves over five seasons. In his sixth season in the organization, trainer Joe Luat joins the Rome staff after serving the 2015 season as trainer for the GCL Braves.
“We are glad to have Randy back as our manager,” says Rome General Manager Michael Dunn. “We look forward to a great 2016 season with him at the helm along with Dan, Joe, and Bobby.”
Rome opens the 2016 campaign on April 7th against Augusta at 7 p.m. New season ticket plans as well as six and twelve pack ticket offers are now on sale. These make great holiday stocking stuffers.
