Howell’s Homer Highlights MLB Scouting Showcase

The Bulldogs have one of the hottest hitters in the nation, Senior Gabe Howell. Howell is batting .667 right now with 29 RBIs and 6 homers. Although the Bulldogs lost Tuesday night to Mt. Paran, the stands were packed with over 30 major league scouts and eight directors to watch Howell’s swing, and he delivered the shot they were all there to see, a two-run homer in the fifth inning that left the ballpark and landed in the parking lot only feet away from the vehicle of former Atlanta Braves Chipper Jones. Howell went 1-3 with a homer and 2 RBIs in the game.

Howell is currently ranked 2nd in the state and 12th in the nation in batting averages. Howell has a very good chance at being taken in the early rounds of the MLB draft which will be held on June 9th.

“We are so proud of what Gabe has accomplished to this point in the season, he has been a pivotal part of leading the Bulldogs to a 14-4 record and state top ten ranking,” said Coach Jason Lanham.
