Chattooga High School Boy’s Track & Field team experienced great success this season, culminating in qualifying for nine events at the State Championship; the most of any school from Region 6AA . This year was a marked improvement over last year when Chattooga didn’t have any qualifiers for the State Meet.
The GHSA Boys State Track Meet was held this past weekend in Jefferson, Georgia. On Thursday, May 12th, field events were held. Cam Perry competed in the long jump, Taelar Teems competed in the shot put and Isaiah Foster in the triple jump.
On Friday May 13th the running event preliminaries were held, Zay Underwood, Cam Perry, Isaiah Foster and Isaac Foster competed in the 4 x 100 meter relay. Isaac Foster competed in the 100 meter dash, Jadarius Price competed in the 110 high hurdles, Isaac Foster in the 200 meter dash, Zay Underwood in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles, and Zay Underwood, Cam Perry, Travell Bankston and Isaac Foster in the 4 x 400 meter relay.
On Saturday, May 14th the State Running Event Finals were held. Isaac Foster competed in the 100 meter dash. Foster came in eighth in the finals with a time of 11.39 seconds. Zay Underwood competed in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles. Underwood took eighth, clocking in at 42.79 seconds.

Then Underwood and Foster joined their teammates Travel Bankston and Cam Perry and took sixth in the Class 2A for the 4 x 400 meter relay.
In spite of losing several seniors this year, Coach Beasley plans on aggressive recruiting and training for an even better 2017 season.
