According to Georgia Department of Transportation, Excelsior Church Road at Ten Mile Creek Bridge south of I-16 at Pulaski-Excelsior Road (Exit 111) interchange will close to thru-traffic for 120 days starting Monday, March 22 for a bridge replacement project.
The contractor, The Industrial Company (TIC), will prepare and maintain the detour around the closure, which utilizes Jones Road, Turner Road and Dutch Ford Road. Motorists can access residences in the area up to the work zone. For the safety of the public, unauthorized personnel and motorized vehicular are not permitted in the construction zone.
This $1 million project will replace the current weight restricted bridge built in 1969. If the weather cooperates, the project is expected to be completed in October of this year.
