Southeast Bulloch Middle School Reports Threat; Juvenile Suspect Apprehended & Charged

According to Bulloch County Schools, Southeast Bulloch Middle School reported Wednesday afternoon that an anonymous written threat was found on campus. On Thursday, the suspect was identified, removed from campus, and later charged.

From Bulloch County Schools:

At approximately 5:15 on Wednesday, March 31, the custodial staff at the school made administrators aware of an anonymous threat written on a paper towel dispenser in the eighth-grade boys’ restroom.  School administrators immediately contacted law enforcement.

Since that time, school personnel have worked in conjunction with School Resource Officer, Deputy Will Craig and Bulloch County Schools’ safety director to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to identify a suspect.

On Thursday, April 1, an alleged juvenile suspect was identified.  Law enforcement removed the suspect from campus for questioning. No weapons were found in conjunction with this case.

After completing their investigation, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office charged the suspect with one count of “terroristic threats and acts.”  The Department of Juvenile Justice will pursue further court action, and the school district will also pursue disciplinary consequences.
