Rome beats Charleston 6-4 in 12 innings on soggy night

After letting the Riverdogs tie the game up in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday night, the Braves got the last laugh with a 6-4 win in 12. Ricardo Sanchez started the game for Rome, going six innings. He gave up three earned runs on eight hits – two of those homers – while striking out three and walking two.

The win went to Chase Johnson-Mullins, who threw two strong innings, and Grayson Jones got his second save of the year.

The offense had a somewhat productive night, racking up a dozen hits for Rome.  Charleston also had 12 hits.

Jonathan Morales went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs on the night.  He also walked twice.  Rome’s other two RBIs came off the bat of Tyler Neslony, who went 3-for-6 with a double.

Jared James had a 2-for-6 night with two runs for the Braves, while Justin Ellison also had a pair of runs in the game. Carlos Castro went 2-for-5 on the night, and Ray-Patrick Didder had a hit, and run and two walks for Rome.
