THS Cross Country at Region

The Trion Bulldog Cross Country teams have advanced to the State Cross Country Meet at Carrollton on Nov 6. At Region Cross Country Meets, the top 4 teams advance to the final and the top 6 individual runners also advance. The Varsity Boys team was led by Sophomore, Eli Hutchins, who ran an 18:10 on the course at Ga Highlands. The course was adjusted from the last race where Eli ran his 17:59.9 school record PR. The 18:10 time on the adjusted course with some hills earned Eli a 4th place individual medal and along with the team’s 3rd place showing, advancement to the State Meet. Armuchee took the 1st place with dominate place positioning and Gordon Lee took second with the Bulldog team trailing just behind with a 20 second gap in the average pace per team.

The Varsity girls advanced on a lower number of fielded teams with a 4th place. Alyssa Estes led the Lady Dogs with a 23:17 run and a 7th place finish. The Armuchee girls had the two top runners with both of them finishing below 20 minutes. They helped secure a first place team score for Amuchee. The Lady Dogs were helped out by some multi-sport athletes. Addie Garrett and Allison Rivers showed up with spirit from cheer and ran for the cross country team and helped complete the Lady Dogs roster to enjoy an upcoming trip to State Competition.
