Summerville Flood Inundation Analysis – March 2024

Using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood maps were developed, and flood management opportunities were analyzed, particularly in response to the significant flood events that occurred in Chattooga County in September 2022.

The Summerville Flood Inundation Analysis conducted in March 2024 was authorized under Section 206 of the Flood Control Act of 1960 and commissioned by the City of Summerville, GA. As part of the Floodplain Management Services (FPMS) program, this study aimed to mitigate flood hazards and improve community preparedness.

Authorized under Section 206 of the Flood Control Act of 1960, this study was prepared for the City of Summerville, GA. This effort, part of the Floodplain Management Services (FPMS) program, aimed to address flood hazards and enhance the community’s understanding of preventive measures. Using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood maps were developed, and flood management opportunities were analyzed, particularly in response to the significant flood events that occurred in Chattooga County in September 2022.
