This Thanksgiving, Jason Vasser of Georgia Auto Brokers is giving back to the community by providing a free Thanksgiving meal to anyone in need. The event will be hosted as a drive-thru at 1695 County Road 44 in Leesburg, Alabama, starting at 11 a.m., and all are welcome to stop by for a plate of turkey and sides.
For Vasser, cooking on smokers and sharing a meal is more than a passion—it’s a way to bring people together. “I would like to give back to the community, and Thanksgiving feels like the best day for me,” Vasser says. “I have a passion for cooking on smokers and seeing the smiles on others’ faces.”
His commitment to helping others is evident. Recalling the flood in Summerville, Vasser remembers setting up in the Marvins parking lot to serve 60 to 70 smoked Boston butts and give away 600 to 700 plates. The joy and relief it brought to his neighbors was, as he describes, “contagious.”
This year, Vasser plans to cook between 40 and 50 turkeys to serve the community and surrounding areas. Vasser started this tradition two years ago and hopes to see it grow. He welcomes anyone who would like to volunteer or contribute. Reach out to him at 706-233-3700.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a hot meal this Thanksgiving, or if you’d like to make the day memorable for others, join Vasser and his team in Leesburg.
