The 8U Dogs were riding a 19 game winning streak dating back to last year in NGYFL play as they traveled to Ringgold GA for their Super Bowl matchup against LFO at 2pm. The Dogs got a TD run early from Christian Henderson and never looked back in route to a 26-6 victory. Cameron Pritchett was named MVP of the game and the 8U Dogs, coached by Coy Hefner and Ben Groce,  extended their streak to 20 straight wins.

The 10-11 Dogs came into their contest Saturday riding a strong defense and grind it out running attack and that is exactly what they did when they faced the Summerville Indians at 5pm Saturday. The Dogs took an early 6-0 advantage but Summerville tied it up 6-6 late in the 3rd quarter. The Dogs however took the lead on a spectacular 50 yard TD run by Toby Maddux and the defense built a wall against the Indians for the rest of the game. As the final seconds ticked down, the Dogs had their victory, 12-6. The strong defense was lead by Jackson Morrison, Ezra Adams, Colby Evans, and Jasper Dukes along the front.  Toby Maddux was named MVP of the game. This group was coached by Derry Maddux and Terry Eller.

This was the first time this group have made it to the super bowl. The team had finished first in the league standings 3 different times but never made it to Super Bowl.

“This year these kids truly played as a TEAM. They grew together, set themselves a goal and work their tails off to achieve it. They put in extra work on their own and even ran practice at times on their own. Total dedication,” said Coach Maddux.

The 9U Dogs also played Saturday but fell short in their quest to win a title against the cross county rivals Summerville Indians. The 9U Bulldogs only lost two games the entire season. Coach Chris Harris and staff did a fine job with this group.
