The Statesboro Police Department has arrested 18 year-old Thaddeus Harris in reference to a burglary that occurred in March.
On March 4, Statesboro Police Dept and Statesboro Bulloch Crime Suppression Team officers responded to a burglary call at a residence on Gentilly Drive. Officers were unable to locate any offenders in the area, but the residence was found to have been forcefully entered and items removed from inside.
Upon further investigation, Detective Kevin Wadley with the Criminal Investigations Bureau identified Thaddeus Harris as the offender and secured warrants for his arrest.
While in the area of Copper Beech Townhomes, SPD Advanced Patrol Officer Terrell Lewis and Officer Benjamin Brooks observed a subject running between two of the apartment buildings. When questioned, the subject gave false information. Through investigating, he was identified as Thaddeus Harris.
Harris has been charged with burglary, giving false name/address/date of birth to law enforcement, and loitering/prowling. He remains at the Bulloch County Jail to await further court action.
This case is still under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
