Chattooga Baseball season is in full swing

We have extremely high expectations. Last season we showed that we can play with anyone in the region. Lost 2 close games to Darlington and won 1/lost 1 against Gordon Lee. Also won one and lost won against Model. Those were the top 3 teams. Darlington lost in the state championship and Gordon Lee in the final 4. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be competing at a high level and winning big games. The biggest thing for us is to learn how to win and expect nothing less, anytime we walk out on the field. Darlington and Gordon Lee are at the top of the region right now and we know we can play at that level. We scheduled several top 15 teams in 3 and 4A to experience tough teams and be prepared for the region and beyond. Calhoun, Cedartown, and Locust Grove will all be big games for us. Our senior class has to continue producing at the plate and in the field. Jake Jarrett is solid behind the plate. Amos Willingham will be huge for us on the mound and in the infield. Logan Groce and Caleb Pledger will hold down the outfield along with junior Lakelin Pilcher. These guys should also lead us offensively as well. Jay Broome has the ability to be big for us as well, playing short stop and on the mound. Tyler Griffin swung the bat well all summer and has continued that so far at the top of the order. When you combine our experience and ability in our upper classmen, along with a lot of young talent, we have a strong mix. Pitching will be big for us. With Amos and Lakelin looking strong right now as our 1 and 2 starters, guys like Broome, Brennon Whitlock, Clayton Johnson, and Blake Bruce provide some solid depth. If we max out our full potential this season, we could have a special season, that just leads to more success in the future.
