Detective Chris Dickson Receives “Officer of the Year” Award

Detective Dickson has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since 2017 and works as a Detective in our Criminal Investigations Division.

On Saturday November 14, 2020 Detective Chris Dickson was awarded the “Officer of the Year” award by the Paulding County Rotary Club.    The award presentation occurred at the Hearts for Heroes Festival at the Paulding County Airport.  This event was well attended by members of the community as it was created to show support and appreciation for public safety, veterans, and all of our first responders.

Detective Dickson has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since 2017 and works as a Detective in our Criminal Investigations Division.  He came to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office from the Atlanta Police Department because he wanted to make a difference in the community where he lives.  Detective Dickson is also a sniper on our SWAT Team and has recently taken on the role of being a Field Training Officer to help new Detectives get acclimated to the Sheriff’s Office and to learn our policies and procedures.  When asked to take on new tasks, Detective Dickson is always eager and willing to assist.

Sheriff Gary Gulledge stated, “Chris is a “go getter” in everything that he does!  Whether it is being a Detective, a SWAT sniper, or even a little league baseball coach, he does a phenomenal job”.  Sheriff Gulledge further stated, “I would also like to personally thank the Paulding County Rotary Club for continually supporting law enforcement in Paulding County.  Without the support of philanthropic organizations like the Paulding County Rotary Club, it would be difficult for us to do our job”.

We would like to congratulate Detective Dickson on this well-deserved honor!

This is a press release from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
