City of Brooklet to save over $16,000 annually with new insurance plan

The City of Brooklet has voted to change insurance companies for city employees and taxpayers will save more than $16,000 in the first year.

Brooklet employees are currently insured by Aetna, which costs the city $8,676.85 per month. The proposed plan by Blue Cross Blue Shield will cost the city $7,306.20 per month, with a monthly savings of $1,370, or $16,447.80 annually.

The plan, outlined below, offers better benefits overall.
