Annual Bring One for the Chipper Coming to Statesboro

This program gives citizens a way of disposing their Christmas trees by recycling it to be chipped into mulch or transformed into a fish habitat.

Providing an option for citizens to recycle their Christmas trees, it keeps trees out of the landfill so that they do not take up valuable space.

For 30 years, the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation’s Bring One for the Chipper program has helped Georgians recycle their Christmas trees. Sponsors like The Home Depot, The Davey Tree Expert Company, Georgia Forestry Commission, One Tree Planted, and WXIA-TV make it possible for us to implement the program in hundreds of communities statewide. Since its inception, the Keep Georgia Beautiful network has recycled over 6 million Christmas trees. and that number continues to grow each year.

There will be two locations for citizens to recycle their Christmas trees. Statesboro Public Works will be collecting drop off trees from December 26, 2020, to January 9, 2021, during normal operating hours. Anderson’s General Store will have a drop off and chipping location on January 9 from 9 A.M. – 12 P.M.

  • Anderson’s General Store (23736 US-80, Statesboro, GA, 30461).
  • City of Statesboro Public Works (5 Braswell St, Statesboro, GA, 30458).

Anyone who brings their Christmas tree to be recycled on January 9 at Anderson’s will receive free seeds to plant, a free seedling, and free mulch upon request.
