Statesboro Doctor’s Office Says Patient Tested Positive, DPH Yet to Confirm Home County

A doctor’s office in Statesboro reported at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26th, 2020 that a patient tested positive at the office on Tuesday, March 24th.

Thursday’s 12:00 p.m. numbers from the Georgia Department of Public Health did not confirm a case from Bulloch County and the next numbers will be released at 7:00 p.m.

Bulloch County Emergency Management officials said Thursday that “Local leaders held conference call with DPH authorities at 11am. DPH advised of a potential exposure here in Bulloch County although the person was not a Bulloch County Resident.”

It it not clear if the cases are related as Southern Family Medicine did not confirm the home county location of the patient.
