Statesboro PD Impact Team Arrests 2 on Drug & Gun Charges

The Statesboro Police Department’s Impact Team made 2 arrests on drug and gun charges Thursday.

The agency says members of the Statesboro Police Department’s Impact Team executed a search warrant at Cambridge the Palms apartment complex on November 8th. While executing the search warrant, marijuana, ecstast, various prescription drugs, drug related objects and a firearm were found. The firearm was determined to be stolen.

Two individuals at the residence were arrested on charges related to the evidence uncovered by the search. They are listed below.

Suspect # 1 — Rakeem Hightower

• 22 year old Male
• Moultrie, GA

• 1 count  Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
• 1 count Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• 3 counts Sale of Marijuana
• 1 count Possess/distribution/sale of Dangerous Drug
• 1 count  Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count  Possession of MDMA with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count  Possession of Schedule IV Drug with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count  Possession of Drug Related Object
• 1 count Wanted Person

Suspect # 2 — Justin Keon Smith

• 19 year old Male
• Valdosta, GA

• 1 count  Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count  Possession of MDMA with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count  Possession of Schedule II Drug with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count  Possession of Schedule IV Drug with Intent to Distribute
• 1 count Possession of a Drug Related Object
• 1 count  Tampering with Evidence – Felony
