The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 31 year-old Letha Richardson of Statesboro for robbery, kidnapping, and battery.
Early Saturday morning, BCSO deputies responded to a robbery call on Sinkhole Rd at the Lucky Foodmart. Upon speaking to the clerk, deputies learned that an unmasked black female had entered the store, physically attacked the clerk, took several hundred dollars in cash and then fled the scene in a white SUV. The clerk fired shots at the vehicle as it was leaving.
BCSO Investigator Dusty Williams identified Richardson as a potential suspect, and applied for a search warrant of her home. Williams recovered evidence linking her to the crime, along with most of the stolen cash.
Richardson was charged with 1 ct Robbery, 1 ct Kidnapping, and 1 ct Simple Battery against a person over the age of 65. She remains at the Bulloch County Jail with no bond.
