Bulloch Co Sheriff’s Office Investigation Leads to Narcotics Trafficking Arrest

After a month long investigation by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team(CST), Jamie Newsome of Statesboro was arrested on several charges related to trafficking drugs. BCSO K9 Deputies and BCSO Road Patrol Deputies made contact with Newsome this week. CST Investigators obtained and executed search warrants on his vehicles, and found approximately a half pound of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, various types of prescription medication, and US Currency.

After receiving tip information, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team (CST) began an investigation into Jamie Newsome of Statesboro, GA, who was suspected to be trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, and prescription pills into Bulloch County. The investigation led BCSO K9 Deputies and BCSO Road Patrol Deputies to making contact with Newsome near a convenience store in the city limits of Statesboro, GA. Further investigation led CST Investigators to obtaining and executing search warrants on Newsome’s vehicles. The search yielded approximately a half pound of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, various types of prescription medication, and US Currency. As a result, Newsome was arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail for the following offenses:

  • Jamie Elton Newsome
    -Trafficking Methamphetamine
    -Trafficking Fentanyl
    -Possession of Schedule 4 Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
    -Possession of Schedule 4 Controlled Substance (2 counts)
    -Possession of Schedule 2 Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
    -Possession of Schedule 2 Controlled Substance (4 counts)
    -Possession of Drug Related Object
    -Drugs Not in Original Container
