On May 10, a citizen reported to Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team Investigator Jim Riggs that almost $5000 worth of metal trusses had been stolen from his property.
Investigator Riggs discovered an internet sales ad for the stolen items. Riggs, along with Investigator Ben Lienhard contacted the seller and arranged a meeting. The seller, 44 year-old Richard Keith Lanier of Nevils, led the undercover investigators to the stolen items in a wooded area.
Lanier was arrested and he admitted to stealing the trusses. He was charged with Felony Theft by Taking.
The trusses were returned to their rightful owner.
