On June 24th, the Statesboro Police Department Impact Team received information that 20-year-old Nieman Mincey of Statesboro was in the area of Cone Homes.
Officers with the Impact Team had been looking for Mincey based on drug and weapons charges stemming from a June 7 shooting at the corner of West Main Street and College Street.
Officers located Mincey, who, according to the police department, attempted to flee but was taken into custody.
According to the news release:
In Mincey’s possession, officers discovered a trafficking weight of what was suspected to be MDMA along with marijuana. The MDMA later field tested positive for the presence of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.
Mincey was transported to the Bulloch County Jail on the following charges:
