“We are so pleased to have earned continued full CCNE accreditation,” said Melissa Garno, Ed.D, RN, School of Nursing interim chair and professor. “We are excited to be growing and educating quality professional nurses to serve our communities, and we are proud of our talented faculty and gifted students in all our programs. Being fully accredited is our quality promise to our stakeholders.”

The baccalaureate program and graduate programs are accredited through 2031, and the BSN to DNP is currently accredited through 2025.

In addition to having one of the premier undergraduate programs in the state of Georgia, Georgia Southern is filling the need for diverse advanced practice providers in rural and underserved areas through APRN programs and has started to address the shortage of nursing faculty through the new graduate nursing education program.

Recognized as a national accreditation agency, CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public’s health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices.
