Ogeechee Technical College announced the appointment of Lagina Evans, CEO of Optim Medical Center-Screven, to its Local Board of Directors. Approved by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia on September 5, 2024, Evans will serve through June 2026.
“Lagina has been an invaluable partner to Ogeechee Technical College over the years,” said OTC President Lori Durden. “Her service on our Foundation Board of Trustees and her passionate advocacy for technical education have made a real difference. Lagina’s expertise in healthcare will be essential as we continue to grow our healthcare offerings and elevate the quality of education we provide to our students.”
A native of Screven County, Evans is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia, holding a BSN in Nursing. She joined Screven County Hospital in 1996 as the Surgical Department Director and used her extensive clinical and administrative knowledge to rise through the ranks to become Chief Nursing Officer, Compliance Officer, and Clinical Director of the facility.
In December 2020, Evans was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Optim Medical Center-Screven. She also served as a member of the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees from July 2021 to June 2024.
Beyond her professional achievements, Evans is proud of her family, including her son, Blake Evans, and his wife, Paige; her daughter, Brandy Thompson, and her husband, Eric; and her two beloved grandchildren, Emelia and Everlee Thompson.
OTC
