Southeast Bulloch High School (SEBHS) has temporarily suspended its varsity Boys Basketball program due to COVID-19 cases and quarantines in the school and community. The school has cancelled all upcoming games through January 18. In accordance with new Georgia Department of Public Health and Georgia High School Association quarantine guidelines, practices may resume after seven or ten days for athletes that meet certain health criteria. No other SEBHS athletic teams’ practices or game schedules are affected at this time.
Since May 2020, Bulloch County Schools’ middle school and high school athletic directors have planned for and implemented the Georgia High School Association’s (GHSA) COVID-19 health guidelines for all school sports. The SEBHS Boys Basketball squad and coaches were notified about the decision on January 4. The school has also contacted the athletic directors of all teams affected by the altered game schedule.
To ensure the privacy of its employees and students, SEBHS and Bulloch County Schools do not release private, individual health information. The school district provides a real-time COVID-19 website with the number of confirmed positive cases and quarantines by school.
