The Southeast Georgia High School Football Power Poll looks a good bit different this week following a Friday night which led to a shake-up in the rankings.
Wayne County remains in the top spot in the poll, but the new No. 2 team is the Pierce County Bears who along with the Yellow Jackets are the only other unbeaten team in Southeast Georgia with two weeks left in the regular season.
Camden fell to the third slot after its road loss at Colquitt County. The fourth through six slots still look the same, but Glynn moved up to No. 7, Richmond Hill climbed to No. 8 and Appling County is now No. 9 while Liberty dropped to the 10th and final spot in the power rankings.
Now, the power poll looks like this:

This week: Off
The skinny: The Yellow Jackets defeated New Hampstead in a Thursday night special last week in Pooler. The Jackets have made it to their season finale against Ware County perfect overall. Now, only the Gators stand in their way of an unbeaten season and a second straight region title. The Wayne-Ware showdown is on Nov. 2 in Jesup.
- Pierce County (8-0, 3-0 Region 2-3A)
Last week: Won 49-22 vs. Tattnall County
This week: at Appling County
The skinny: The Bears had another huge offensive night in their home win Friday over Tattnall. The defense gave up the most points it had in a single game this season. The Bears travel to Baxley Friday to take on Appling in a game that could ultimately decide the region winner.
- Camden County (6-2, 0-1 Region 1-7A)
Last week: Lost 38-9 at Colquitt County
This week: at Lowndes
The skinny: The Wildcats dropped their region opener last week at top-ranked Colquitt County. This week, they will be in Valdosta for a league meeting with Lowndes which fell out of the state rankings with their loss to No. 9 Tift County on Friday.
- Ware County(6-2, 2-0 Region 2-5A, ranked No. 7)
Last week: Won 35-6 at South Effingham
This week: Home vs. New Hampstead
The skinny: The Gators had no trouble with the struggling Mustangs last Friday. They will get a better team this week when the Phoenix visit Waycross for a league game.
- Charlton County (6-2, 4-1 Region 2-A, ranked No. 6)
Last week: Won 21-7 over Telfair County
This week: Home vs. Clinch County
The skinny: The Indians got the job done last week against Telfair. Now, they brace for Clinch, the state’s No. 2-ranked team. Both teams are tied for second in the region standings, having lost only to top-ranked Irwin County in region action.
- Frederica Academy (6-2, 2-0 GISA Region 2-3A, ranked No. 6)

This week: Home vs. John Milledge
The skinny: The Knights were off last week to prepare for a pair of big games to close out the season against John Milledge this week and region rival Bulloch Academy next week. John Millegde is 9-0 on the season.
- Glynn Academy (5-3, 2-0 Region 2-6A)
Last week: Won 17-12 over Brunswick
This week: Home vs. Effingham
The skinny: The Red Terrors won their fifth straight game in the rivalry matchup with Brunswick last week, going up 17-0 in the fourth period before closing out the Pirates. This week, Glynn will play host to the Rebels from Springfield for a league game.
- Richmond Hill (4-4, 1-1 Region 2-6A)
Last week: Won 23-19 over Bradwell Institute
This week: Off
The skinny: The Wildcats won a key region game at home over Bradwell on Friday. They will be off this week before facing Effingham next Friday in their season finale.
- Appling County(5-3, 3-0 Region 2-3A)
Last week: Won 34-0 over Liberty County (Mon.); Won 41-10 over Brantley County (Fri.)
This week: Home vs. Pierce County
The skinny: The Pirates won twice last week in a five-day span, beating Liberty County at home in a game that was postponed the previous week in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. Then, they took care of the Herons on Friday. This week, Appling will host Pierce in a matchup of teams unbeaten in the region.

Last week: Lost 34-0 at Appling County (Mon.); Won 54-0 over Long County (Fri.)
This week: Home vs. Brantley County
The skinny: The Panthers got blanked on Monday when visiting Appling in Baxley, but they bounced back to trounce struggling Long Friday night in Hinesville. This Friday, the Panthers will stay at home to face off against Brantley.
