12.595, according to Superintendent Jared Hosmer, “this is the Roll Back Rate from the Tax Assessors office.”
Hosmer said as of now the budget was not balanced, “the budget is at the same point it was at the July meeting.”
The budget for the current school year remains with a deficit in the amount of $494,066.47. “This money will come from our Fund Equity if necessary,” said Hosmer.
The reduction would decrease the millage rate by .088-mills.
The proposed millage rate is expected to generate $4,573,276 for the schools. That’s $34,911 more than last year.
Hosmer said it was his suggestion to cut the millage rate, “after looking at all available information and the plan put before the board, we believe this is the best scenario. If necessary the shortfall will come from fund equity.”
