The Georgia State Patrol is seeking the community’s assistance following a tragic incident early this morning. At approximately 5:30 a.m., Chattooga County deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Highway 114, south of Lyerly. The pedestrian was fatally injured.
The driver involved left the scene without reporting the incident. The Georgia State Patrol is now leading the investigation with the support of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
Chattooga County Sheriff Schrader and the Georgia State Patrol urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to this incident, or who may have relevant information, to come forward.
