Officials and community members were filled with excitement and optimism as they celebrated the groundbreaking of the AdventHealth Cancer Pavilion in Rome, Georgia.
“Our mission at AdventHealth is to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ, and I cannot think of anything else in health care that more closely models Jesus’s healing ministry than cancer care,” said Isaac Sendros, President and CEO of AdventHealth Georgia and AdventHealth Redmond.
AdventHealth’s cancer services in Rome will be part of AdventHealth’s existing comprehensive cancer care network in Northwest Georgia and expand access to world-class cancer care into Floyd County. The 30,000 square foot medical office building will include access to whole person care through medical oncology, infusion treatment and women’s imaging services. Additionally, the center will provide a dedicated team of oncologists, nurses, cancer care navigators, pharmacists and therapists, and it will offer amenities such as genetic screening for cancer, classes in diet and nutrition, financial education, emotional health and well-being, survivorship programs, oncology rehab, support groups, access to clinical trials, and other services dedicated to caring for the whole person.
Sendros added, “AdventHealth’s commitment to Northwest Georgia is to grow our cancer care services across this market so that when people face cancer they have access to a world class cancer care team that fights alongside them.”
Construction is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks and the pavilion will open in the summer of 2026.
