Obituary: Mr. Larry Canada

Mr. Larry Joe Canada, Sr., age 76, of Menlo, GA, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Canada was born February 13, 1943, in Trion, GA, son of the late Richard Albert “Dyke” Canada and Foy Lee Hardwick Canada Styles. He was a member of the Menlo First Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, owned and operated Canada’s Auto Parts and Service Center for over 40 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Canada was preceded in death by a brother, Lamar Canada.

Mr. Canada is survived by his wife of 50 years, Theresa Humphreys Canada; sons and daughter-in-law, Britt and LeAnn Canada, Joey Canada; brother, Greg Canada; sister-in-law, Jane Canada; grandchildren, Brittne McKinney, Cory Canada, Caleb Canada, Gracie Canada, Jaxlee Canada, Hudson Canada, and Blythe Canada; and great-grandchild, Cooper McKinney.

Funeral services for Mr. Canada will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 29, 2019, from the Menlo First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Quinn and Rev. Matt Hall officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cory Canada, Caleb Canada, Patrick Canada, Kevin Canada, Justin Canada, Jimmy Copeland, and Sid Swords. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Humphreys, Wayne Humphreys, Jimmy Sink (special friend), Johnny Brimer, Danny Hegwood, Randy Hillard, Jimmy Hosmer, Ralph Tucker, Jerry Bruce, Grady Richardson, James Richardson, Shannon Richardson, and the Men of Menlo First Baptist Church.

Mr. Canada will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Saturday. He will also be in state at Menlo First Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
