PSC Election Set for Tomorrow: What You Need to Know Before You Vote

Georgia voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, to cast their ballots in the Special Primary for the Public Service Commission (PSC)—a powerful state body responsible for regulating Georgia Power, the state’s largest electric utility. The PSC also oversees telephone and natural gas utilities across Georgia.

This year’s election includes Districts 2 and 3, both of which are statewide races. While PSC commissioners typically serve six-year terms, the current incumbents have held their positions for nine years due to previous delays in election scheduling.

As of June 16, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., Chattooga County reports that four absentee by mail ballots had been issued. Of these, two have been accepted, one has been cancelled, and one remains outstanding. An additional 63 voters participated in advance voting. Advance voting has ended, and the deadline to request an absentee ballot has passed.

Election Day is tomorrow, June 17, 2025. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and voters must cast their ballot at their assigned polling location—not at the Registrars Office.

Make sure you bring a valid photo ID and verify your polling place before heading out. This election will shape the future of energy regulation in Georgia, so make your voice heard.
