A tragic shooting incident occurred Friday afternoon on Oak Street, leaving one man dead and another in custody as authorities continue their investigation.

According to Summerville Police Chief Brian Ozment, officers were dispatched to the scene at 12:36 p.m. on June 6, 2025, in response to a report of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male lying unresponsive in the roadway with a serious gunshot wound.
