Chattooga River Fest DETAILS

GP Federal Credit Union presents the 3rd Annual Chattooga River Fest, June 8th in downtown Summerville, GA. The Chattooga River Group (CRG), along with host partner: The City of Summerville, has put together a fun-filled, full day of activities for the entire family. It’s 3 events in 1 fabulous day!

The RIVER EVENTS: Kayak Fishing Tournament & Kayak Paddle. To register, please go to ChattoogaRiverGroup.org, call Cindy at 706.857.4033, or find us on Facebook/ChattoogaRiverGroup. The CRG is raffling off a sit-on angler kayak sponsored by Atrium Health EMS. Tickets will be available in the CRG pavilion during the festival in Dowdy Park and the CRG tent at the Block Party. Drawing will be held during the 7p hour before A1A takes the Main Stage.You do not have to be present to win.

The FESTIVAL in Dowdy Park is 10a-3pand is FREE admission. Parking is available on Commerce, Economy, and in the Ingles shopping center. Handicap parking ONLY is available at Dowdy Park. The Cornhole Tournament will open registration at 10aand start at 11a. Teams of 2 can register the same day ($50/team) till slots are full. Prizes will be awarded immediately following the tournament: First Place-$100, Second Place-$75, Third Place-$50. We’ll announce the winners at the Block Party. The CRG will be selling raffle tickets for a set of cornhole boards painted by local artist Donnie Davis (Paradise Garden). The drawing will be held at the block party during the 7p hour before A1A takes the Main Stage. You do not have to be present to win. The City of Summerville will be hosting its annual Ducky Derby at the Depot and adding a Jeep Cruise-In on East Washington from 10a-2p. You may purchase duck tickets that day at the depot before the race at 1p. Local musicians will be playing in Dowdy from 12-3p then again at the block party in the Open Air Pavilion 5-7p.

The BLOCK PARTY gates open at 5 o’clock (somewhere*)…see map for gate locations. Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free with an adult. The stage at the Open-Air Pavilion will host local musicians from 5-7p. Since this is in the entertainment district, alcohol in designated cups (only) may be purchased at participating restaurants: Dos Maguey’s and Jefferson’s. We will have cornhole boards and tables set up for “Margaritaville” near the South Gate and “Cheeseburger in Paradise” close to the West Gate. At 7p, GP Federal Credit Union, Susan Locklear (Summerville Main St) and Cindy McGraw (CRG) will host games, announce award winners from activities throughout the day and draw for raffles. Then, at 8p A1A “Let’s Get Tropical” will take the stage. Jeff Pike and his band are THE Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band!!

It’s all in Summerville, GA (aka Somewhere?)) on Saturday, June 8th!! If you miss it, “Come Monday” you’ll regret it. “Who Gets To Live Like This?”

Pet policy—This is a pet-friendly event, but there are rules all pet owners must abide by, please, for the safety and enjoyment of everyone attending. We prefer that only pets which are service animals be brought to the event and that all pets MUST be held to a leash by an adult at all times, properly cleaned up after, weigh no more than 50 pounds, and be well-behaved. We reserve the right to use our own discretion and ask a pet owner to remove their pet from the event.
