Rubber Ducks, Hats, and Hometown Fun: Ducky Derby & Duckfest Returns to Summerville

Summerville is gearing up for one of its most quack-tastic events of the year—the Ducky Derby & Duckfest Vendor Market, happening Saturday, May 17 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Summerville Depot!

Hosted by Summerville Main Street, the event promises a day full of family fun, local shopping, and a thrilling rubber duck race through Town Creek. The excitement peaks at 1:00 PM, when a colorful parade of rubber ducks will race to the finish line for a chance to win big. Cash prizes include $500 for first place, $250 for second, and $100 for third.

Before the race, attendees can enjoy a wide variety of arts & crafts, entertainment, food vendors, and children’s activities. A fan favorite, the Ducky Derby Hat Contest, takes place at 12 noon, with prizes awarded in both adult and youth categories—so don your most creative duck-themed headwear!
