Local Students Serve on District Board of Directors

The Chattooga County 4-H is proud to announce that three of their members were elected to serve on the 2020-2021 Northwest District Junior Board of Directors.

The Chattooga County 4-H is proud to announce that three of their members were elected to serve on the 2020-2021 Northwest District Junior Board of Directors.

Cora Conley and Lane Bridges, both 8th graders at Menlo Elementary School, are serving as Junior Board members and Callie Brown, 8th grader at Trion Middle School, is serving as the Northwest District Vice Junior Board of Directors Vice President.

The candidates traveled to Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, GA to compete in District Project Achievement and campaign to hundreds of fellow Northwest District 4-Hers, competing against 15 other competitors for the spots. Candidates campaigned the entire weekend, using all their free time to speak with voters.

Voting delegates from each of the 39 counties in the Northwest District were to decide As members of the Board of Directors, these youth will plan and facilitate district events and be mentored by leaders of Georgia, work closely with the Georgia 4-H State Office, and develop leadership skills to bring back to their home county to better their community, program, and others.
