Jacksonville State University hosts each year a Band Day for band students across the United States to participate in the halftime performance with the JSU Marching Southerners. During the day students would go into rehearsals and also practice getting to their sets on the field.
Students were able to tour the campus, listen to the drumline rehearse, and network with other students. During the JSU vs UNA game students were then able to go onto the field and play with the Southerners.
After the game students were excited to have the opportunity to watch the Southerners perform. Rylee Willingham stated that “it was really fun and meet a lot of new people. I would highly recommend this experience to new band students.”
