The Bulldogs are Back-To-Back Area Champs
The Trion Bulldogs pulled off back-to-back wins at the GHSA Single A: Area Duals, with an emotional win over Gordon Lee in the finals. For the Bulldog Seniors this win sends them on their 4th consecutive trip to the State Duals.
Sporting team shirts honoring the passing of Jeff Todd, the Bulldogs tore through the Mt. Zion line up 60-18 before facing off against the Gordon Lee Trojans. The championship Duals began with Noah Deparlier at 126lbs whose 1st period pin kicked the entire team into overdrive.
The Bulldogs were highly motivated to bring home a win for Logan Blevins after the shocking loss of his stepfather, Jeff Todd, a die-hard supporter of the Trion wrestling family. With 10 of the 14 Trion wrestlers winning their matches, the Bulldogs pulled off the 53-21 win to set up their 4th trip to the GHSA State Duals in Macon.

Senior Logan Blevins saw his match go late into the 3rd period before an Escape and a Takedown put him ahead 7-4 for the win.
Head Coach Eric Brock was very pleased with his wrestlers’ performance. “I couldn’t be more proud of the boys. They wrestled their tails off. It was a big emotional day.” Brock knew that emotions were running high but was able to focus that energy onto the mat. “I think they wanted to win for Logan and his family. We had the shirts we are wearing made to honor Jeff and we sold them to benefit the family. I was proud of all the boys, but I thought Noah Deparlier’s match was the one that set the tone in the finals,” said Brock.
The event sold out of the benefit shirts. Coaches and fans from other schools were buying and donating, Gordon Lee donated $250 to Cindy Todd,” Brock said.
