Chattooga Basketball Remains Top Ten

The 3rd Annual Chattooga Christmas Tournament tipped off last night. Chattooga Boys and Girls varsity basketball teams both won. The girls defeated Lafayette 59-41. FaithAnn Foster was the leading scorer with 21 points.  Ziyah Underwood added 14.

The CHS Boys’ Basketball team improved to 9-1 (4-0 in Region) on the season by defeating Central Carrollton (AAAA) by a final score of 79-65. Jundraius ‘Nuk Nuk’ Adams was the leading scorer with 22 points. Adams hit six three-pointers. Clayton Johnson added 17 and Jamarious Mosteller and Devin Price both had 14.

The Indians had three dunks against Central Carrollton. Clayton Johnson had two and Jamarious ‘Stank’ Mosteller had his first ever dunk in a game! Watch the highlight clip:

 

Chattooga currently leads Region 7-AA with a 9-1 record, (4-0 Region) and is ranked 9th on MaxPrep. Region 7-AA has three teams ranked in the Top 25 with Rockmart standing at 16th and Coosa at 24th.

The Boys take on Cedartown (AAAA) tonight at 8:30 following the girls game against Rockmart which starts at 7:00 p.m.

Below are updated brackets for the 3rd Annual Chattooga Christmas Tournament.

Both high school gyms will be used for the tournament with four games being played in each gym each night of the tournament.

Admission will be $5.00 each night, which covers admission to both gyms for the night. Games have been scheduled so that you can watch four girls’ games in a row or four boys’ games in a row, if you wish.
