Chattooga Indian Cheerleaders Rise to the TOP

The Chattooga Indians Competition Cheerleaders will be competing in sectionals at Columbus State this Saturday. The top 16 out of 27 coed teams will advance to the state finals, but with the competition being an open classification the Indians have their work cut out for them.

The Indians head into sectionals after finishing in first place at Dalton this past Saturday with the team recording their season high score, and the icing on the cake for the cheerleaders was beating Murray County for the second time. “We still need to clean up and improve execution of skills,” said Morgan looking ahead towards sectionals and state.

The Indians have no seniors and nine first time to varsity cheerleaders on the team, “hopefully we can come back as a team next year, with 1 to 2 additions, and make a run for it…They work hard and have good attitudes. It’s been fun watching them grow,” said Morgan.

The 2016 CHS Competition Cheerleaders are Laney Barnes, Haley McDaniel, Alex McDonald, Destinee McGuire, Makenzie Stricklin, Bailey McKinney, Chloe Rosser, Michaela Millican, Mia Crider, Madison Tibbs, Tiberious Shepherd, Tacobyus Shepherd, Logan Money and Allie Mitchell.
