The Chattooga Boys’ Basketball Team earned 2 more victories last night at Pepperell with the varsity winning 79-48 and the JV winning 66-49. A combined 21 players both JV and Varsity scored for the Indians.

Sophomore Devin Price has found his place on the court, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. While Devin did see limited playing time last year with the varsity as a freshman, this year he is part of the starting five. Devin has taken six charges this season, alone.
Senior leadership has been provided by Jay Shropshire who is averaging 4.4 rebounds a game and 23.6 points per game.
As the game in Pepperell illustrates Chattooga is deep in talent this season, getting tremendous support from the bench with 11 different players scoring in the game, including a massive 3-pointer by CJ Martin. Jamorious Mosteller, Isaiah Foster, Jay Shropshire, Devin Price, Clayton Johnson, Montavious Shropshire, Jay Broome, Rhett Walker, Glenn Walker, and Bruce Horner also added points to the scoreboard. Isaiah Foster was the high scorer of the night with 15 points, followed by Jay Broome with 14. Foster is also averaging over 5 rebounds per a game.
“Tonight was a complete team effort. It feels like we’ve had more games than practices at this point as a full squad, but we’re learning and improving with each game. I gave the team 3 keys to winning going into the game tonight: 1. Shot Selection, 2. Limit Turnovers, 3. Rebound, rebound, rebound. These are the three things that got us beat at Calhoun on Saturday. Our boys responded exactly how we needed them to coming off of a loss, and they took care of each of the three keys to winning that we discussed before the game. They played more as a team tonight than they have all season. Our chemistry is improving tremendously. We had ten guys score with three of those in double-figures. Nobody scored more than 15. We’re excited to go into Christmas being undefeated in the region. We’re a little banged up right now, and I hope we’ll be healed up before we resume region play in January,” said Indian Head Coach Jared Groce.
The varsity boys will be playing in the Cherokee Invitational on 12/16, 12/19 and 12/20 (bracket attached). Â Chattooga is the defending champs for the Christmas tournament. Games will be played in Gaylesville High School’s new gymnasium. PLEASE NOTE: Game times on the bracket are central time
