Road to Recruitment

Here’s a few Chattooga football players you might just see playing on Saturday.

Isaac and Isiah Foster, twin athletes from Chattooga High in Summerville, Ga, are being heavily recruited.  Both brothers have had many offers, including a call from Air Force recently requesting their transcripts and test scores.  They were each clocked at a 4.4 forty this summer at the UTC summer camp.  They are versatile athletes who can play Corner/Safety/WR/Slot/TB/QB/returner.  The Twins have great ball skills, great vision and are very physical. Georgia Southern, Shorter, Carson Newman, Kennesaw State, UTC and West Georgia among many other schools have shown constant interest in adding the Twins to their roster. Their character is probably their best trait. Coaches have remarked that it would be hard to find two more respectful, well mannered young men. Both brothers carry over a 3.8 GPA. Isaac and Isaiah Foster combined for over 2,500 yards rushing and nearly three dozen total touchdowns last season.

The Twins are not the only football players at Chattooga drawing attention from recruiters. Mike Adams has a mere 30 offers at present. He has been invited to Tennessee, Kentucky, Auburn, Arkansas and North Carolina just within the last few weeks. Adams is the anchor of the defensive line.  As a student/athlete, Adams’ 3.8 GPA puts him in the top 1% of high school football players across the nation. His imposing 6’3” and 311 lbs frame makes Adams hard to miss in his #52 jersey. Adams spends quality time in the weight room. His current max squat is 560 lbs., max bench 385 lbs. and he runs the 40-yard dash in 5.12. Adams carries a 3.7 GPA.

Dustin Pope had a breakout year his sophomore year and has followed up this year with improvements on the field and in the weight room. Standing 6’6″ and weighing in at 305, Pope is simply massive. He currently benches right at 400 lbs, squats 500 lbs and clean jerks 280, and he runs the forty in an impressive 5.2 seconds. Pope graded out on the offensive line at over 80% every game last year and averages seven pancakes per game while playing in multiple positions across the line. As a junior, he has a lot of interest from several schools including Miami, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Auburn and Purdue.

Tyler Griffin is the senior linebacker and running back who posted a jaw-dropping performance against Cedar Bluff early in the season. Putting up 276 yards rushing on 24 carries in a single game, Griffin’s biggest impact remains on the defensive side of the ball. At linebacker, Tyler has been an impact player that opposing offenses must always account for. His 4.49 speed and aggressive style of play gives him the ability to play every position in the defensive backfield. His ACT score of 26 leads the team and translates into an unparalleled football IQ. Griffin knows how to direct a defense and seems to always be around the football. Currently being recruited by Sewanee University, a top-tier academic institution, and Berry College, Griffin looks to finish the season strong and continue attracting the attention of more recruiters.
