Trion Basketball spent the past summer making the most of the off months, participating in a strength training program with Coach Barrett and playing in several scrimmage games. The summer was highlighted by a trip to Milledgeville to participate in the Georgia College Basketball Camp.
AllOnGeorgia caught up with Bulldog Head Coach Lanny Thomas to talk about the upcoming season on the hardcourt.
AOG: Who are the returning players that played Varsity last season?
Thomas: We only lost two players from last year’s roster, Brier Ingle and Andrew Venn. This season we have six returners who will be seniors, Kodiak Crabbe, Andy Allen, Jaden Hardy, Rory Hogg, Austin Mason and Will Wyatt. We will have three juniors, Jeremiah Cochran, Dawson Brown, and Ethan Young. We will have two sophomores in Ben Allen and Rob Brown.

AOG: Who are the fresh faces to watch for?
Thomas: Rob is a young sophomore. However, he really played well over the summer and has shaped up to be a really good player. Jeremiah Cochran is a player to watch this season. He is a very athletic post player for us.
AOG: Who are you looking to for team leadership?
Thomas: I am blessed this season to have a good group of seniors. I have noticed during the time I’ve had them, someone different steps up as a leader either by being vocal or by demonstrating action.

Thomas: I try not to speculate about an upcoming season.
AOG: What are the season goals?
Thomas: To be honest, I consider our goal as to get better every practice and every game. If we play as well as we are capable and continue to get better, the record, the championships, and the trips to state will take care of themselves.
