The Trion High School football team took to the field under the full moon more like werewolves than Bulldogs. And the visiting Armuchee Indians were not prepared for the onslaught that followed. Two passing touchdowns from sophomore quarterback Jarrett Gill and three rushing touchdowns from the Bulldogs gave the Trion crowd one of the most productive halves of scoring in several years, and left many Armuchee fans heading for their cars early.
Bulldog head coach, Justin Brown spent the week working on focusing his team after an emotional win last week against rival, Gordon Lee. Coach Brown did not want his team overlooking the undermanned Armuchee Indians. Clearly that would not be the case as several Dogs got in on scoring five first-half touchdowns and the rabid defense that held the Indians to just 14 yards of rushing and only allowed one first down in the first half. The Indians were kept far from the red zone for the first three quarters.

For the Bulldogs, #7 Jarrett Pierce led all rushers with 3 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. #2 Malik Martin added 10 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown. #10 Gabe Howell picked up 19 yards on 5 carries and #16 Drake Clowdis had 26 yards and a score on just 2 carries. #33 Logan Blevins had 4 powerful runs for 32 yards and came up just a yard short of adding another score.
Under center it was #5 Jarrett Gill completing 8 of 11 passes for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns. Howell picked up 43 yards on 3 catches and a touchdown and Pierce added 2 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.
The second half was mostly mop up duty for the Bulldogs with Logan Blevins demonstrating that the Trion running game will be respected for a few more years to come. His large frame and wrestling background add to a punishing run style that powered over would-be-tacklers. Kicker Jackson Walters nailed a 30 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter and Jake Wells closed out the game with a safety.
