Feed the Boro Celebrating 3 Million Meals Served, Next Food Drop is May 17

Feed the Boro is celebrating three million meals served:“This would not have been possible without our Presenting Sponsors, Food Lion Feeds and The Islands Statesboro. These two organizations have provided the bulk of the funding to make this possible. But even with their help we still need our local drop sponsors. United Way, APEX, GAF, Core, G.S.U. Community Leadership, Bags of Faith, JTEK, Weichert Reality, V.O.A.D., Aspen Aerogel, Turner Construction and Statesboro Rotary Club. I cannot overlook the hundreds of small donations of $25, $50, $100 that help fill the void. A special thank you to our partner agency Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia that provides truckloads of food monthly.

But the key to reaching this 3,000,000 mark is the wonderful Feed the Boro committee members. Lori Spinner, Mary Poe, Dewayne Grice, Wayne Williams, Tod Marsh, Roger Smith, Rich McCombs, Patrick Robertson, Jeff Hurst, Lisa Jones, Lisa Sampson, Michelle Lammers, Wendy Forgacs, Brenda Cooper, Laurie Cigal,Amanda Altman, George Moore and Jamisha Jones.

Feed the Boro is a 501(C3) corporation with no paid employees, no utility costs or rent. When you donate to help Feed the Boro, over 95% goes toward providing food to our neighbors and friends.”

About Feed the Boro:

Feed The Boro is a non-profit organization that coordinates feeding residents of Bulloch, Candler and Evans county. The organization was started 27 years ago in Bulloch County. The goal was to “reach people that may not have a warm Thanksgiving meal available on Thanksgiving day but just as important to give a moment of human kindness and sense of belonging and community to people that may be alone or experiencing a sense of depression during what is for others a time of family and celebration”. When able, the organization holds Food Drop Events during other times of the year as well.
