Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites is offering tips for a great Memorial Day weekend.
This Memorial Day holiday, take time to honor those who protected American soil. Georgia is home to significant historical battlefields and forts that have been meticulously preserved, like colonial Fort Morris or 1860s Fort McAllister.
We’ll help you kick off summer with hiking trails, kayak rental, swimming spots, mini-golf, bike rental and more. Rangers have planned activities like campfires, nature crafts and guided hikes. Arrive early because the most popular parks may need to limit access if parking is full. Wear your PFD on the water, and stay within designated swimming areas. Keep pets on leash and well hydrated. Finally, share your adventures by tagging us #GaStateParks. Have a safe Memorial Day Weekend!
