Georgia Department of Public Safety Opens Post 83 Buckhead to Enhance Centralized Operations and Strengthen Public Safety Partnerships

The Georgia Department of Public Safety is proud to announce the official opening of Post 83 Buckhead, which took place on April 9, 2025. This strategic development marks a significant milestone in our agency’s ongoing efforts to enhance its operational effectiveness, improve response times, and deepen public safety partnerships within the metropolitan Atlanta region. By establishing a centrally located post within the heart of Atlanta, our agency is positioned to serve residents and visitors more effectively across the region. This centralization allows for improved response times to high-traffic areas, enhanced visibility of Troopers in densely populated neighborhoods, and more efficient coordination during major incidents, special events, and traffic-related emergencies.

“The opening of Post 83 Buckhead represents a forward-thinking investment in public safety for the Atlanta area,” said Colonel William W.
