(1) Emergency responders are on site and searching Savannah High School and the Savannah Early College this morning in response to unconfirmed reports of a gunman in the area of the campus. A lockdown was initiated at the school. Emergency responders are evacuating students to a safe unification point while the search continues. There is no information at this time to confirm that the reports are accurate; however, a full response to the potential threat is taking place for the safety of all occupants. Parents will be provided information as to reunification process with students when the all clear is given.

From Glynn County School System Wednesday morning:

(2) Following an extensive search of Brunswick High by our agency law-enforcement partners, no actual shooter or injuries were discovered at the school. At this time, it appears to have been a prank call, as other school districts in our area have received similar calls.

Officers from various agencies will remain at the school until further notice; however, all other schools have returned to normal day-to-day operations. We are grateful for the swift and diligent response of our SROs and partnering agencies as we continue to make every effort daily to ensure the security and well-being of our students and staff. Again, thank you for your time and patience in this matter.

(1) We wanted to make you aware that our district administration received a report of a possible threat on one of our school campuses. At this time, Brunswick High has been cleared by law enforcement personnel; however, as a precaution, all schools have been placed in a Code Yellow lockdown.

We are aware that several other school districts have also received similar calls this morning and have begun investigations into these reports. We have increased police presence on all campuses to closely monitor the school grounds and student body, so as to maintain a safe learning environment for your child and our school staff.

We will provide additional updates as information becomes available. Thank you for your time and patience in this matter.

From Camden County School System Wednesday morning:

Camden County Schools is aware of the phone call about an active shooter. Please be aware that this is a hoax and there have been no shots fired at the Camden County High School campus. Again, no shots have been fired. There are additional police in place on the premises as a precaution. We cannot be more thankful to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Kingsland Police Department, St. Marys Police Department, FBI, GBI, NCIS, Base Personnel, EMS, and SROs for their quick response.
