Jekyll Square, originally called “Jekyll Place,” was named after Sir Joseph Jekyll (1663-1738), a member of British parliament.
The Downtown Development Authority is selling this year’s Christmas ornament, celebrating the recently deceased Jekyll Oak from the Jekyll Square between Tipsy McSways and Ned Cash Jewelers.
They are only $10 each and are available at the DDA office in Old City Hall, 1229 Newcastle Street. They can also be purchased at:
