I am not surprised at all about this grade. No matter how much they remodel and build it will be for naught until they employ enough qualified nursing staff to adequately care for patients. Too few nurses who are spread too thin cannot give the care that patients look for and deserve.
The OR is badly in need of more staff. The wait time usually experienced in the OR is inexcusable. Adding more rooms without increasing staff will only add to the problem. Another problem we experienced and have heard the same thing from others is the “hospitalists”. My elderly father was admitted through the OR. He was seen by three doctors who he had never seen and who knew nothing about his medical history. He was in the hospital 13 days and never saw any of his regular doctors. Also my husband was taken to the OR having an active heart attack. The hospitalist came in and never touched or looked at him or asked him any questions. A PA asked the questions and entered the info into the computer. After a stent and staying overnight the hospitalist came in and my husband asked him when he could go home. As he was leaving the room he said “you will have to wait for your doctor to dismiss you.” This is very disconcerting. My question is what is he there for. That’s why we have primary care doctors and cardiologists to take care of us and who are familiar with our medical history. More and more of our friends and acquaintances are choosing to go to Jacksonville or Savannah for faster and better service. You can assume this is just one complaint about our hospital but rest assured it is not. My name is Martha Drew and my cell number is 912-269-5192. Thank you.

This is so sad. I don t understand what s going on. It s not doing as well as the original hospital..Glynn Brunswick Memorial…I visited there last summer. It s beautiful on the outside…problems on the inside…I suggest fire the top management and bring in staff who care…Brunswick deserves to have better. I wondered why all of a sudden folks of Brunswick had to go to Jackssonville for everything…..The residents used to say that U can go in but U won t come out…Lordy Lord…

I went to the SGHS for testing and I was also admitted to the hospital and I had the most horrible experience with the Hospitist. I was told to go to Dr and be admitted to the hospital. They about killed me. I will not see a Hospitist ever again.
We need better People that Care about getting an A ratings.
