Bullpen gives up 12 runs, Lexington beats Rome 17-2

It didn’t end up making much of a difference in terms of winning, but the Rome Braves bullpen didn’t have a great night Monday in a 17-2 loss to the Lexington Legends. Starter Touki Toussaint allowed five runs on five hits in six innings of work. He struck out six and walked three in the game, earning his eighth loss of the year.

The bullpen had an ugly outing, collectively.  Dalton Geekie gave up five runs, one earned.  Grayson Jones gave up another six runs, five of those were earned. Chase Johnson-Mullins was the only Rome pitcher Monday night who didn’t allow a run, but the Legends picked up another run late off Yeudi Grullon.

Offensively, not a whole lot to write home about for Rome.  Carlos Castro had the only multi-hit night for Rome with a 3-for-4 performance, including an RBI.  The Braves’ other RBI came from Jonathan Morales, who went 1-for-3 and a run.
