Carlos Castro hit a solo home run in the ninth inning, leading the Rome Braves to a 3-2 win over the Greenville Drive on Thursday.
Greenville had a runner on first in the bottom of the ninth, but Kyri Washington hit into a forceout to end the game.
In the top of the third, Rome scored on a single by Ray-Patrick Didder that brought home Juan Yepez. In the following at-bat, Ronald Acuna hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Tyler Neslony to give the Braves a 2-0 lead. Greenville answered in the bottom of the inning when J.T. Watkins hit an RBI single and then scored on a wild pitch.
Devan Watts (3-1) got the win with two innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Gerson Bautista (1-3) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
For the Drive, Derek Miller tripled and singled twice, also stealing a base. Roldani Baldwin doubled and singled twice.
